My top 3 tips for framing art.

There’s nothing better than filling a boring blank space in your home with a statement piece of art framed perfectly.

Firstly, when framing art, it’s really important that a frame compliments the artwork, so what do I mean by that. If you put a modern piece of art into a traditional antique frame, let’s be honest it will clash and look totally out of sync.

So, things to consider when framing your artwork are:

The colour theme within the painting.  There may be one colour that stands out and that decides the colour of your frame, or alternatively you may wish the frame to blend into the background and in this case choose a similar colour to your wall.  This will draw all attention to the piece of artwork.

The material of the frame, this is likely to be influenced by your home interiors, the colour of your wall where the piece will hang or if there are other framed art pieces in this space.

By framing art, you are protecting the piece and increasing the lifespan, one of the most important features is the glass.  It should have a UV filter, protecting the art from becoming faded.  Also, it’s important to choose glass that does not compromise how the artwork will be displayed, low-reflective glass types are an option.
