My little helper.

As I stroll towards the studio door bright and early in the morning, holding Poppy on my side, the little feet start to kick and as the door opens the excitement fulfils her face, as she eagerly pokes her head around the side.  As I set up and plan for the day ahead, I have no doubt if she could talk, she would say ‘right mummy what’s happening, can we start painting.'

Poppy loves to get involved, so inquisitive and must see exactly what I am doing, a proper little nosey parker.  As long as she is in the middle of the paint pots making plenty of noise, we’re all happy.

She is obsessed by vibrant colours.  The oohs and ahhs start as soon as she sets her big bright eyes on my new Wild & Free Collection. I am stunned by her reactions.  She just can’t wait to touch the textures on the paintings, as she runs her tiny fingers over the layered markings her little face just fills with joy as she smiles and sticks out that little tongue.

The more I paint wildflowers the deeper I understand the inspiration behind my Wild & Free Collection. My connection with nature has really grown since becoming a mum.  Our many walks have connected me more than ever, seeing the wildflowers growing along the sides of the country roads make me smile on those rainy afternoons when a little snooze solves everything.

But that’s not all, as a mum, there is now so much more meaning to things.  Now, when I catch a glance of wildflowers, that is a world that I want for Poppy.  One where being unique and individual is beautiful, a world where difference is wonderful, where we can all grow together and not be judged.  Where there isn’t a pressure to be like others and uniqueness is embraced.

My little Poppy, brightening up the studio every day.  The best little helper.
